My large-scale artworks are “spun off” of my drawings. I draw constantly, finding that
drawing allows that consistent flow of ideas crucial to my work.
Some drawings I choose to develop into more elaborate scenes. I’ll often exhibit the smaller scale drawings together with their larger cousins and the wood blocks from which those larger mixed-media prints are made, for the process of making art is as important as the finished result, the artistic process justly deserves to be declared through exhibition.
When it comes to the placement of my drawings in an exhibition, I make sure that they’re placed in a random mix, so that each show enjoys its own unique narrative.
