Inter-Glacial Free Trade Agency

Solo Exhibition, Inter-Glacial Free Trade Agency examines the relationship between governments and corporations through the guise of a trade show.  The work focuses specifically on the end products being marketed to the public; fashionable survival gear in the event we are thrust back into an ice age as a result of global warming.  All items were branded with the same logo convincing the viewer that in the ‘new world’ there is only one choice.

From humorous word play, to the play of light in a room, to the playfully grotesque, this exhibition presents a wide ranging approach to the use of ceramic material. Although varied in approach, each artist willfully bends preconceived notions of craft and invites the viewer to reexamine ideas surrounding ceramic practices. All artists are currently living and working in Philadelphia, PA and include: Joshua Paul Hebbert, Jerry Kaba, Jason Lee Starin, Andrea Marquis, Roberta Massuch, Jordan McDonald, Peter Morgan, Julia Six and Charity Thackston.

This exhibition was curated by Charity Thackston, current curator and artist-member of PRACTICE Gallery in Philadelphia, PA.
